About Combo Competitions

Founded in 2013, Combo Competitions organizes international ideas competitions for architects and designers.

Participants are encouraged to give significant attention to thinking and reasoning, as projects are judged as much by underlying concepts and clear communication as by aesthetics and form. By asking for specific problems to be solved – but being open in how they are solved – Combo Competitions wants to encourage participants to use architecture as a tool that can solve problems and create value outside of a given scope.

Through the acknowledging and rewarding of proposals where the end result is larger than the sum of its parts, Combo Competitions wants to highlight the importance of combining concept, aesthetics and communication.

Another ambition for Combo Competitions is to remind architects that all ventures within the built environment are important, and that a seemingly mundane or poorly funded building category can be as interesting and rewarding to work on as a project in a more celebrated sector.

Combo Competitions was founded and is run by Swedish architect Per Linde.
